This weekends guests had THE BEST time!
Superb - days of blissful independence from life
Stunning apartment - it is unique - the view, sound and smell of the sea rejuvenating indeed
The beds, showers and facilities - perfect. The location - excellent
We all now feel fantastic and we will be back next year

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day and the remarkable women of Ilfracombe.
Local legend tells how, in 1797, the women of Ilfracombe rallied together when a French ship was spotted in the Bristol Channel. With no soldiers in town, they gathered on Capstone Hill with their red petticoats draped over their shoulders to resemble the red coats of British troops — and the ship turned away.

From those legendary Red Petticoats to suffragette Marie Anstice du Sautoy Newby, and to the many women running businesses, volunteering in our community, serving on our lifeboat and running our harbour — Ilfracombe has long been shaped by the strength, spirit and determination of its women.
