Cheglinch Camping is a pop up, green field, wild camping, tent only, site on the outskirts of West Down in rural North Devon. We offer unspoiled countryside camping on the outskirts of a working farm, with breath taking views. The site pops up in the summer, but then reverts back to its agricultural use allowing you to enjoy fresh Devonshire air and views while the sun shines (hopefully!). We are
opened on selected days from late July 2022 to early September 2022. Pitch price is £15 per night, for 2 adults, 1 car and 1 dog. Additional adults are £7/night, children £3.50 per night, car £2/night, dogs £1/night. Phone or email for more information or to book. The pitches are extremely generously sized but unmarked so you can choose your favourite location. There is plenty of room so children have open space to run and play also. Enjoy the wonderful views of North Devon, while listening to the birds singing. Predominantly the site is a peaceful, tranquil place interrupted only by the odd moo or bleat. However, there may be the odd day where tractors can be seen and heard working nearby- we are in the countryside after all! We allow barbecues as long as they are kept off the ground. Alternatively, you can hire one of our fire pits for that authentic camping experience. Wood is available to purchase on site. Facilities are basic allowing you to enjoy some wild camping- mains water tap providing fresh water, washing up sink with cold water and clean portable toilet are offered. We do not have showers available. Dogs are permitted but it is essential that they are kept on a lead as there are cattle and sheep grazing nearby. Dog excrement MUST be picked up and disposed of in the waste bins provided (as the field will revert back to agricultural use afterwards and dog excrement can transmit some nasty diseases to livestock.) Owners are responsible for their dogs at all times and are liable for any damage caused by them. Small single s*x groups are allowed but we ask that they are respect the other campers. Where possible we ask that these groups camp on one side of the site and families on the other side. This enables everyone to camp happily together on the same site. We ask for quiet by all after 10.30pm.
