There are pumpkins aplenty in the market garden this year.

We have rather a lot of them, which means the kitchen has plenty to work with as we move into the colder months. Soups, sides, sauces and seasonal dishes all lend themselves rather well to a good pumpkin.

On Wednesday’s at The Barrington Boar there is no corkage fee to pay!

Some bottles are worth saving for a special meal, and Wednesday evenings at The Boar are the perfect excuse to open one.

Join us for a relaxed midweek meal, bring along a favourite bottle of w**e and enjoy it with something lovely from our seasonal menu, with no corkage fee to pay.

Whether it’s a bottle you’ve been saving for the right occasion or simply a little way to make dining out midweek more affordable, we think Wednesdays deserve to be enjoyed.

A lovely way to break up the working week. Booking advised.

The festive table

Our festive menus arrive in the first week of December, bringing together seasonal ingredients, comforting flavours and dishes made for long lunches, candlelit evenings and a little indulgence.

Alongside our festive à la carte menu, we’ll also be serving a Festive Set Menu, all in the warm, cosy surroundings of The Barrington Boar.

December is always a busy time at The Boar, so if you’re planning a festive lunch, dinner or get-together, we’d recommend booking sooner rather than later.

Imagine waking up here, in our beautifully renovated Smithy.

A quiet autumn morning beside our market garden, a sleepy honey-coloured stone village just outside your door, and the only real decision to make is how long to linger over breakfast.

Dogs are very welcome in The Smithy too, and with so many lovely walks from the doorstep, they’ll be just as happy with the escape as you are.

Tables available this weekend

As the evenings draw in, there’s something especially lovely about gathering around a table in our cosy pub. Flickering candles, a warming tipple, something good to nibble on and a few unhurried hours with friends.

With our menus changing regularly, there’s always something new to tempt you, perhaps finished with one of our show-stopping puddings and a glass of Somerset C***r Brandy.
