🌘 Don’t Miss the Solar Eclipse – tonight! 12th August! 🌘

A spectacular partial solar eclipse will be visible across the UK tonight, and it’s set to be the biggest eclipse seen here since 1999! Around 90% of the Sun will be covered by the Moon, making for an incredible sight.

🕕 What time?
• Begins: Around 6:10pm (times vary slightly by location)
• Maximum eclipse: Around 7:10–7:15pm
• Ends: Around 8:05pm

👀 Which direction should I look?
The Sun will be low in the western sky, so find a spot with a clear view of the western horizon – avoiding trees, buildings or hills if possible.

⚠️ Important – Protect Your Eyes!
Never look directly at the Sun without certified eclipse glasses (ISO 12312-2) or a suitable solar filter. Regular sunglasses are NOT safe, even when most of the Sun is covered.

If the skies stay clear, Rivers Edge could be a lovely place to relax and enjoy this rare event. Fingers crossed for sunshine! 🌞🌘
