🥾 Walk of the Week #5 – Stainforth, Winskill & Langcliffe 🌿
Looking for another beautiful walk to enjoy during your stay? This week’s Walk of the Week takes us through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Yorkshire Dales, with stunning limestone landscapes, peaceful villages and fantastic views along the way.
📍 Stainforth, Winskill & Langcliffe
📏 Distance: Approx. 4 miles
⏱️ Difficulty: Moderate
Starting in Stainforth, this scenic route takes you through the countryside towards Winskill, with incredible views across the surrounding fells. Along the way you’ll pass impressive limestone features, peaceful farmland and some wonderful viewpoints overlooking the Dales.
The route also takes you through the picturesque village of Langcliffe, with its traditional stone cottages and fascinating local history, before following the River Ribble and heading back towards Stainforth.
💧 One of the highlights is the River Ribble and Stainforth area, where you’ll find beautiful riverside scenery and the famous weir – a lovely spot to pause and take in the surroundings.
🌄 Don’t miss the views! On a clear day there are fantastic panoramas across the Dales, including views towards Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside.
🐶 Dog-friendly – please keep dogs under control around livestock
🥾 Sturdy walking shoes or boots recommended
📸 Plenty of photo opportunities – especially around the limestone scenery, villages and river
🌦️ Check the weather before setting off – some sections can be steep, rocky or slippery
This is a fantastic walk for discovering some of the quieter corners of the Yorkshire Dales and taking in the incredible scenery right on our doorstep. ❤️
