Where do your TVTA donations go?
I passed this trail exit on my gravel ride around Caberston Forest.
Lots of mud and sweat to build this one exit at the Golfie.
Great job by Tweed Valley Trails Association and all the volunteers and the work behind the scenes to make this happen. Every £1 really does help.

"TVTA are responsible for 3G, Big Baw, Community Service, Feed The Pony, Final Fling, Flat White, New Wolf/Loam Wolf/Lone Wolf, NYNY and the Reservoir Climb. We also perform work authorised work elsewhere around the Tweed Valley trail network to maintain and develop the trails for locals and visitors to use. This takes time and money!"

A few snap shots from the walk completed yesterday by Mrs Cleikum Mill Lodge.
She walked a challenging circuit above the valley passing around Peebles and through Innerleithen walking over Lee Pen and into Glentress over the tops before descending back into Peebles where she started.

Good luck to all those taking part in the Peebles Pootle today. A challenging circular walk around across the highest hills in the area. Great views and spectacular walking , just maybe not so many hills in one day! Nutters!
Yes Mrs Cleikum Mill Lodge is doing it....I wonder how many steps it will be ( 28 miles) ....guesses below.
Me I will be marshalling at the iconic Glentress 7 munching my sandwiches, good luck to the riders. I wish I was riding today. Classic xc laps at the iconic Glentress Trail Centre where smiles are guaranteed.

Come gravel walking in the Tweed Valley.
This area is epic Gravel Walking terrain,.do not let the bikes have all the fun!
Footwear choice is a top talking point and mixing terrain means choosing versatile footwear.it is a such a personal choice as a gravel walker and always a compromise.
The word is spreading about gravel running as well, who would have thought!
So that's why so many top ultra runners live in this area then....

There is generally always something happening in this area.
This weekend it's the Border Counties Rally a tarmac event based in Duns with stages across the area on closed public roads, the nearest for us being at Scots View ( near Melrose) early on Sunday morning.
An iconic spot for the stunning view.
(and will also feature in the Tour De France next year after riders pass through Innerleithen😍)
If you want to watch something quieter but also offering some sideways action, CYCLE SPEEDWAY with free entry for spectators from 1pm at Tweedbank on Sunday looks interesting.....
And it's the superb Traquair House Medieval Fayre this weekend as well a short walk away.
Entries to the Wibbley Wobbley Bridge running race on Sunday are now shut. Mrs Cleikum Mill Lodge will be puffing round give her a cheer if you see her. This is a great 8 mile trail route through stunning countryside beside the River Tweed and well worth a visit at anytime of year- it makes a great walk as well.
I will hopefully ride to one or two of these events on Sunday to give people a cheer and eat some ice cream.

After years of searching I finally managed to obtain two jumpers made here at Cleikum Mill.
My plan is to display them somehow alongside the photographs of the working Mill and be a memory for now and well into the future to help preserve some history for Innerleithen.
They are mint and returning home.
One is cashmere and one lambswool and pure class.
Thank you Louise at Lou Lou's Vintage Emporium along the High St for helping with my search and coming up trumps.
