The Old Manse is a listed building dating back to the 1780s set in a large woodland garden just off the A9 and commanding far reaching views of the surrounding countryside. We will have three well appointed bedrooms, two king sized doubles and one twin room. All rooms are spacious with ensuite facilities and have recently been refurbished. Please note only two rooms are available to let on any one

night. The period features of the rooms have been retained which include high ceilings, decorative cornices, shutters and fireplaces with views over the tree lined drive and gardens. Complimentary toiletries, luxurious cotton bed linen and fluffy towels await you. We provide a hot drinks tray that includes hot chocolate and fresh milk. For those who want access to the outside world WIFI is available throughout the house. Flat screen televisions and hairdryers are provided in each bedroom with an iron and ironing board available on request. To add to your comfort we have a guest sitting room overlooking the garden, which is stocked with an interesting range of books and board games. On cooler evenings the wood burner is lit adding to the relaxing surroundings. For those who have a sweet tooth we have an honesty snack basket to satisfy your chocolate craving
Tain, Scotland’s oldest Royal Burgh, is five miles away and the Blue Flag beach at Royal Burgh of Dornoch lies just fifteen miles to the north. For those who enjoy a “wee dram” The Old Manse is positioned close to Glenmorangie, Dalmore and Balblair Distilleries. Golfers are spoilt for choice in having Royal Dornoch Golf Club near by, their Championship course is ranked 5th in the world and the Struie course is ranked in the UK and Ireland’s top 50 links courses. Tain Golf Course, a traditional Scottish Highland links course designed in 1890 by Old Tom Morris enjoys stunning views and sheltered climate. In addition there are further courses at Alness, Golspie and Bonar Bridge to name just a few. In the close vicinity there are both gentle forest and coastal walks taking in the pretty Seaboard villages of Hilton, Shandwick and Portmahomack

Mingro, Stronsay, Orkney - Available 10th September for 7 nights

Mingro is all about escaping the modern world. There is no TV, no broadband and occasionally you get a mobile phone signal standing in front of the wood burner. Take a few good books, watch the sea, walk the sands, and immerse yourself in the delights of nature. Positioned at one end of Rothiesholm beach, which has white sands, clear waters and is a gentle horseshoe in shape. Most days you have the whole beach to yourself occasionally interrupted by the odd dog walker or seal!

Stronsay is one of the Northern Orkney Isles which can be reached by daily ferries or plane from Kirkwall. The island measures just six miles by four and is known as the Island Of Bays. The island is catered for by two shops, a pub/hotel and cafe (both have WiFi).

Mingro is a stone’s throw from the beach, you can walk out of the garden directly on to the sands. The house comprises of kitchen/dining area with multi fuel burner, bathroom with shower, living room with multi fuel burner, double bedroom and store room. In addition to the multi fuel burners heat is provided by programmed electric radiators.

Fisher’s Cottage is an original fisherman’s cottage, situated in the seaside village of Balintore on the Easter Ross Peninsula. This traditional, stone cottage is just a few yards from a stunning sandy beach and attractive harbour. Well presented throughout, the bright, modern living room/dining room has a pretty cottage suite and colour-coordinated furnishings. The kitchen is at the rear of the cottage and is equipped with back door opening onto the garden with outdoor dining furniture. Fisher’s Cottage sleeps three with a well equipped kingsize bedroom and a good size single bedroom. The modern family sized bathroom is complete with shower over bath.
