We’ve had some wonderful guest reviews, but never one like this.

One comes along that completely takes our breath away. Our recent guests from China didn’t just leave us a lovely message in our guest book, they left us a piece of art. Alongside the most beautifully written review in both English and Chinese, They created these stunning manga style sketches inspired by their stay. Loch Ness in the mist and even a majestic Highland stag, proud outside our little retreat. After translating their words, one line that stayed with us was “The meaning of travel is to witness this magnificent world, receive love from it, and also send your own love back to it.” We will never forget that. TR and YL, thank you for choosing us.

Thank you for your creativity, and for leaving behind something we’ll treasure forever. We hope the road brings you back to the Highlands.

The guest book that keeps on giving! 🐾

Another absolutely lovely entry from one of our recent little guests at Little Thistle — and this one really made us smile. 🥰

Agostino clearly had a wonderful time, especially when it came to playing with the dogs! 🐶❤️ He not only left us a lovely message in the guest book, but also drew this fantastic picture of Little Thistle, the dogs and his holiday in his own art book.

We absolutely love seeing Little Thistle through the eyes of our younger guests — and it looks like the dogs have definitely stolen the show again!

And talking of the wildlife… there are lots of deer around the house at the moment, who seem to have made themselves part of the daily welcome committee! 🦌🦌 They regularly appear around the house for our guests to enjoy.

Agostino’s message is written in Italian, and unfortunately our Italian isn’t quite good enough to translate it properly! 🇮🇹

Can anyone help us translate it? We’d love to know exactly what he’s written. ❤️

This year we’ve been lucky enough to welcome some absolutely lovely guests to Little Thistle, and our guest book has been filling up with the most wonderful reviews. 💜

The dogs have been getting quite a few mentions too… so much so that I’m starting to think they deserve their own social media page! 😂🐾

We love hearing stories like this!

Our recent guests all the way from New Zealand originally booked three nights at Little Thistle Apartment while attending a beautiful farm wedding nearby. But they were having such a lovely time that they decided to extend their stay by another two nights!

They’ve now promised to return, not just for weddings but for a proper holiday.

And how lovely—they said if we’re ever in New Zealand, we must look them up! It’s these kinds of connections that make hosting so special. We can’t wait to welcome them back for their next adventure 😍

The doodling guest book is back in full force 🦕🌲☀️ and with such a fantastic start to the season already, we’ve welcomed guests from all over the world — most recently from Korea, America, Saudi Arabia, France and England 😍

Summer is starting to get busy, but we still have some availability in June, so if you’re looking for a Highland getaway and the perfect base to explore the Highlands, Little Thistle is the ideal spot.

Our latest guests really made the most of their stay with jam-packed days out! I always love helping guests plan their adventures and hearing afterwards that it exceeded their expectations 🥰 They explored Inverness and the beautiful Ness Islands, enjoyed a meal at our favourite local pub , then headed over to Ben Nevis the next day with a stop at — which they said was one of the highlights, especially with the amazing weather they’ve had. Yesterday they even managed a long day trip over to the Isle of Skye!

And of course, one of my favourite things is seeing all the drawings and messages left behind in the guest book… long may it continue 💛

It’s been a while since I’ve shared any photos or videos of Little Thistle, but on a day like today, you just have to seize the moment! ☀️⛰️

It’s been such a busy season, and it’s not quite over yet! We still have a few bookings left before the end of the year — and honestly, autumn and winter are some of the most magical times to visit. Think northern lights, crisp snow, and cosy nights tucked up in the apartment… it really does feel like a home from home. ❄️✨

We’ve had a fabulous season this year with so many wonderful guests, and so many lovely reviews in our new guest book….I realise I haven’t posted any at all this year and been pretty quiet on the social media front but this review really got me 🥲….
“We briefly considered not giving the keys back……we were already planning where to put our toothbrushes and how to forward the mail” 😍😍
