It’s been a while since I’ve shared any photos or videos of Little Thistle, but on a day like today, you just have to seize the moment! ☀️⛰️

It’s been such a busy season, and it’s not quite over yet! We still have a few bookings left before the end of the year — and honestly, autumn and winter are some of the most magical times to visit. Think northern lights, crisp snow, and cosy nights tucked up in the apartment… it really does feel like a home from home. ❄️✨

We’ve had a fabulous season this year with so many wonderful guests, and so many lovely reviews in our new guest book….I realise I haven’t posted any at all this year and been pretty quiet on the social media front but this review really got me 🥲….
“We briefly considered not giving the keys back……we were already planning where to put our toothbrushes and how to forward the mail” 😍😍

Our first guests from Singapore and our first guests to use our EV charging station 🚉 😍

Sure this will be the first of many as electric cars are becoming more affordable and more charging stations are popping up in the Highlands.

Very happy they enjoyed their stay and looking forward to hosting more guests with their electric hire cars 🚗

Our guests over the weekend were staying to compete in the Loch Ness Marathon as Little Thistle is the nearest accommodation to the start line 😍

When they arrived Saturday they asked if we had any milk so they could top up with caffeine in the morning before the race 🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️ and then arriving back last night in the taxi, Sarah had taken off her trainers and was struggling to walk from the gate to the apartment so I let her have my Crocs 🐊

Well done to all the runners 👏🏻🥇and look forward to seeing you all next year!

And the drawings continue 😍 with a lovely write up too ☺️….out guests were mother and teenage son from Germany who were taking a road trip around the Highlands.

They stayed at Little Thistle for 5 nights and had adventures everyday. During their time here they saw a r age of animals in their natural habitat 😍

September is still pretty busy and the northern lights have been making an appearance! Autumn is a wonderful time of year to visit as the colours are changing and the stunning scenery is even more magical.

500 forient gifted to us in our unique guest book 😱

We have so many international guests but very few guests from the UK 🤔 it’s a mystery that the majority of our guests are from all corners of the world but so few from England or Scotland 🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s maybe one of the reasons why we loved coming here….to escape the crowds, to avoid the summer chaos at the UK airports, to not conform with the norm ….and actually thinking about it, it would be nice left that way 😂 we don’t want it to be overcrowded and lose its charm but we do want people to come and experience it and fall in love with the breathtaking scenery, the fresh mountain air, the friendliness of the Highlanders, the art of distilling whisky, the purity of nature at its best ☺️

It’s great that the Highlands isn’t overly subscribed with hotels and tourist attractions…..yes there are gift shops but many stocked with high quality local handmade products 😍

Scotland to me is a year round place to visit….you would never come here for the weather 😂 but every season is present and every season is beautiful, the wildlife, the flora and fauna, the sun, rain, the snow, the wind, the countless rainbows….everything you feel and experience is alive and it brings you alive when you’re here 🥰

Our recent guests from France were only here for two nights and asked if we could recommend a place for them to dine on the first night and of course the choice has to be which is our local pub and only a three minute drive away…..they ended up eating their both nights and mentioned it in our guest book and also dropped me a private message to thank me for the recommendation and making the reservation for them, so glad they enjoyed it as much as we always do😍🥂🍻
