🏃 LOCH NESS MARATHON – SUNDAY 27 SEPTEMBER 2026

Important information for guests

The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running takes place this Sunday 27 September

As the marathon route travels along the south side of Loch Ness, there will be a number of temporary road closures and traffic restrictions in our area on Sunday morning and into the afternoon.

If you are planning a day out, travelling into Inverness or checking out on Sunday, please check the road closures before setting off and allow extra time for your journey.

🚗 Road Closures & Travel Information

The B862 and B852 around Whitebridge, Foyers, Inverfarigaig and Dores are affected at various times during the event.

🗺️ Marathon Route

The marathon starts between Whitebridge and Fort Augustus and follows the spectacular south-eastern side of Loch Ness before finishing in Inverness.

The Event Village at Bught Park, Inverness is open from 9am–4pm on Sunday with:
Street food • Live music • Pipes & drums • Expo • Kids activities • Race finish

The River Ness 5K starts at 9:30am
the Loch Ness Marathon at 10am, and the River Ness 10K at 10:30am

🚘 Parking in Inverness

There is no event parking at Bught Park, so please check the official parking information if you are heading in to watch.
