At the tip of Chanonry Point our dolphins delight visitors daily as they feed on the turn of the tide. The links golf course attracts every level of player and offers a two mile circular walk. A one mile sandy beach walk (left) takes you to Rosemarkie, with seafront eateries and caves if you fancy an extra mile or two. The Royal Burgh of Fortrose (right), with its 13th century Cathedral ruins, artisan shops and cafes is a hub of activity. All of this is within 10 minutes of our Bothy.

Feeling a little lost? Come find yourself with a quiet Bothy retreat. We have some super reading material - local interest books, Scottish poetry, a Bible and other Christian books, and fictional literature too. Cosy up after an autumnal or winter woodland walk and enjoy a good book in front of the wood burning stove.

We welcomed our first ‘walk-in’ guests this week. They walked from Inverness Castle via Ord Hill, Loch Lundie and Munlochy Bay to stay with us. They are continuing along the 147 mile John O’Groats Way over 2 weeks.

Sadly some of our guests have been affected by scam emails and WhatsApp messages as a result of this data breach in April. Please be assured that if you use Booking.com to book Bothan a’ Bhuachaille, we will never message you outside of their own app.

The travel platform said it had changed Pins to protect customers but would not say how many were affected.
