Meet your host, Jackie

If we've not met before, I thought it was about time I introduced myself!

I'm Jackie, and I'm delighted to welcome guests to The Urquhart here in the heart of Oldmeldrum, close to Inverurie in Aberdeenshire.

Many locals might remember that I actually used to own a ladies' fashion boutique in this very building. I've always loved its character, history and unique charm, and over the years I couldn't help but imagine what else it could become.

With my passion for interiors and creating welcoming spaces, I began to picture somewhere that people could truly relax - a stylish Scottish retreat where couples, families and groups of friends could spend quality time together and feel completely at home.

Today that vision has become The Urquhart guest house!

Whether you're visiting for a family celebration, a wedding, a whisky tour, a weekend exploring Aberdeenshire or simply looking for a peaceful escape, I want every guest to feel welcomed from the moment they arrive.

One of my favourite parts of hosting is meeting people from near and far and helping them discover everything our beautiful corner of Scotland has to offer. From local recommendations to those little thoughtful touches that make a stay memorable, I genuinely want guests to leave feeling they've found a home from home.
