Today marks the reopening of our wild campsite at Nether Hall Farm and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you back!
If you’re dreaming of peaceful mornings, birdsong, and evenings by the fire, our small and tranquil campsite is the perfect escape. Nestled close to the river and surrounded by nature, it’s a place to truly slow down and unwind.
We have:
🔥Fire pits ready for cosy nights under the stars
🌲Spacious woodland pitches each with benches and taps
🚿hot, gas powered shower
💦A premium river view pitch with private loo for that extra comfort
🛏️ Charming shepherd’s hut with comfy double bed and log burner
🛶Just a short wander to the river for walks, water sports and amazing sunsets
🍺Amazing pub, The Wild Rabbit, within walking distance

It’s been all hands on deck here as we get ready to reopen the campsite this weekend! 💪
We’ve been busy behind the scenes clearing fallen and dead trees, cutting the grass, repairing fire pits, and giving everything a good clean. The toilet and shower block has had a big upgrade with brand new roofs, plus a fresh new shower installed
The chimney in fox den has been swept, the stove freshly painted, and we’re fully stocked up on logs ready for those cosy evenings by the fire 🔥
We’re excited, refreshed, and ready to welcome you all back for a fantastic new season. See you soon!

Did you know we now have a fantastic pub within walking distance from the campsite?
Follow the river beach and head up the footpath towards Harkstead, and you’ll reach The Wild Rabbit
It has recently reopened after several years! It’s already becoming a local favourite again, with amazing food, drinks, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The walk itself is a treat, with wide estuary views, open skies, and plenty of wildlife along the way. And at the end… a cosy pub with delicious food and the perfect spot to relax.
Don’t miss out: a riverside stroll and a great pub are waiting for you on your next stay!

✨ Summer at Nether Hall Farm ✨
Swap busy campsites for birdsong, dark skies and space to breathe.
Our small family-run wild campsite sits on our working arable farm overlooking the River Stour, with fewer than 10 tree-lined pitches tucked between the trees. Each pitch has its own bench and water tap, giving you plenty of room to relax and properly switch off.
Spend your days exploring miles of footpaths across the AONB, paddling or launching a kayak directly onto the river, spotting wildlife, or simply unwinding in nature. And when you don’t feel like cooking, there’s now a fantastic pub within walking distance serving great food.
We’re fully off-grid but still comfortable: • Clean compost loos
• Hot gas-powered shower
• Spacious private pitches (no crowded fields)
Looking for something extra special?
Our premium river-view pitch The Badger Sett has its own private compost loo, and our cosy shepherd’s hut The Fox Den offers a simple glamping stay surrounded by nature.
