Fearann Eilean Iarmain covers some 23,000 acres of the most breathtakingly beautiful scenery in the southern part of Skye. There are magnificent views east across the Sound of Sleat towards Knoydart, and west towards the dramatic skyline of the famous Cuillin range, with the hills of Rum and Canna visible to the south west. The woodlands of natural hardwoods are extensive, and provide an excellent

habitat for woodcock. Stalking
There is Red deer stalking, for both stags and hinds, available during the stalking seasons. The stunning scenery and long views over hills, sea and lochs can make for a memorable day. There is also limited availability for woodland roe deer stalking. Red Deer, Stags : The Red Stag open season begins from the 1st July – 20th October, a number of days are available to stalk, but booking early is advisable. Red Deer Hinds : The Red Hind open season begins from the 21st October – 15th February. This is very cost effective and a great way for beginners to gain knowledge into the art of stalking . Our stalker will guide you into the animals that require to be culled while all the time explaining the methods used to reach these decisions. Roe Deer : Some Roe deer stalking is available from time to time. To find out more details and costs for Roe stalking please call the estate office or our GameKeeper/Stalker. Woodcock shooting
Walked up woodcock days are available to book from November through to January. Days consist of flushing Woodcock with dogs and are set in stunning and some remote areas of the estate. Lunches are held at our Bothy which provides a welcome retreat for the weary hunter. From moor to native wooded areas, woodcock days will provide challenging sport even for the most experienced hunter. Accommodation
Hotel Eilean Iarmain, which is owned by the estate, and is renowned for its atmosphere, is available for shooting guests throughout the year. Set in a stunning position at the water’s edge, the hotel, built in 1888, overlooks the island and lighthouse of Isle Ornsay, with long views over the Sound of Sleat to the hills of Knoydart. There are 12 charming double bedrooms and four well-appointed suites. Candlelit dinners in the wood-panelled restaurant, and drams by the log fire in the sitting room. The Gaelic Whiskies and traditional music in the cosy wood-lined bar, with an open fire adding to the warmth and character. There is also self-catering accommodation on the Estate; a traditional stone cottage and a beautifully restored 18th century farmhouse.
