Those of you with an interest in aviation history will be aware that next week the 90th anniversary of the first flight of the Spitfire will be celebrated across the country with a Spitfire making an appearance in the skies around Great Britain.

The Spitfire’s maiden flight actually took place on the 5th of March 1936.

However here at Montrose Air Station, we are also marking 90 years since No.8 Flying Training School opened.

To mark this anniversary our volunteers have been busy over the winter giving the Diorama Room a makeover complete with new information boards and artefacts.

Meantime we have a shared a collage giving a sneaky peak of what we've done and, how it looks now !

We can't wait to open it to visitors from this Friday, 3rd April.
