The hospitality sector has come together to launch – a united campaign and petition calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.

Spearheaded by chef and publican Tom Kerridge, we’re working alongside trade bodies across the sector, such as and , hospitality communities like , and you, businesses across hospitality, to say 10% VAT is fair for hospitality.

Our sector pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support venues, our customers, our high streets and our local communities.

This campaign is for everyone: businesses, customers, waiting staff, chefs, kitchen porters, bar staff, hotel teams, farmers, brewers, suppliers and producers.

Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and personable Bar Staff to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, demonstrate good organisational skills, and have a keen eye for detail. Previous restaurant or bar experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK TILL 2AM AT WEEKENDS (not every weekend). MUST BE OVER 18
Responsibilities
• Serve drinks and beverages efficiently whilst maintaining high standards of customer service
• Take orders accurately and handle cash or card payments responsibly
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area throughout shifts
• Ensure compliance with food safety and licensing regulations at all times
• Restock bar supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
• Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere
Skills
• Proven experience in hospitality or food service environments is desirable
• Knowledge of food safety standards and licensing regulations
• Excellent serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Good time management to ensure prompt service during busy hours
• Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
• Ability to work well within a team and adapt quickly to changing priorities
• Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills
