This will be our final post as we have now handed over the reins to the new owners, but we just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has made our last 11 years here so special. It’s been an incredible journey and we take with us so many new friends and amazing memories. As we say goodbye, we are leaving you in the very capable hands of a fantastic couple called Jim and Julia, who we have no doubt will be excellent hosts and make you all very welcome. LATE AVAILABILITY – KELD BUNKBARN. As a result of the new Government restrictions limiting gatherings to no more than 6 people from Monday, two weekends have now become available to hire the whole Bunkbarn (and hottub if required) in October – the 9th and 10th and the 30th and 31st. As with all bookings that have been impacted by the Pandemic so far, in the event that Government restrictions change again meaning that you are unable to travel then we can simply move your deposit forward. We’re super excited to have teamed up with the ‘Dales Dippers’ to host ‘Dip Fest 2020’ this August. The ‘Dales Dippers Wild Swimming UK’ Facebook group was only founded in February 2019, but has seen phenomenal growth and now has almost 1700 members. Swaledale is a wild dippers dream with so many waterfalls and river pools within a mile of us (including one actually on site) so we’re delighted that they have chosen to host their festival here. The first 2 day event sold out within hours of it being announced and due to such high demand a second event is now being planned for later this August. As many of you will have seen, Swaledale has made the national news today with flash floods across the region. Just to reassure any guests who are coming to stay, we have not been affected at all as the problems are much further down the Dale, however when travelling to us it is best to avoid the B6270 from Richmond as that road has been impacted so diversions may be in place. You can still get to us via the A66 via Tan Hill, or over the Buttertubs from Hawes or along the B6270 approaching from Kirkby Stephen.
