Our fortnightly quiz continues, and this time we’ll be raising money for CHAS. 💙

Caroline Burnett will be taking on the quiz mistress role, ready to challenge your general knowledge with plenty of questions, laughs and friendly competition.

As always, we’ll have our raffle on the night - and any raffle prize donations are very gratefully received. 🎟️

Part-Time Chef / Cook Wanted
Are you a local chef looking to step back from the grueling 60-hour work week? If you love the kitchen but want to reclaim your work-life balance and enjoy more lifestyle opportunities, this is the perfect role for you at The Plough Hotel.
We are looking for a reliable, independent Part-Time Chef / Cook to join our team. You will work solo during your shifts, running the kitchen under the guidance and instruction of our full-time Head Chef.

The Shift Pattern

• Evening Shifts: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday (5:30 PM until last orders at 7:45 PM).
• Breakfast Shifts: 2 shifts per week (flexible / to be agreed).
• Flexibility: Occasional holiday cover for the Head Chef.

What We Are Looking For

• Self-Motivated: Comfortable running a kitchen on your own.
• Organised: Able to manage breakfast or evening prep and clean-down independently.
• Local: Ideally based nearby for an easy, stress-free commute.
• Experienced: Confident handling traditional hotel breakfasts and classic pub/evening dishes.

• Work-Life Balance: Early finishes on evening shifts (kitchen closes at 7:45 PM!).
• Consistent Routine: Regular part-time hours with predictable days.
