One of Britain's most loved children's characters has a special connection to Kendal.

Postman Pat was created by author John Cunliffe, who lived and taught in Kendal. He wrote the original stories from his home in the town, drawing inspiration from the surrounding Cumbrian countryside.

The fictional village of Greendale was inspired by nearby Longsleddale, just outside Kendal, while the local post office where he lived also helped shape the stories.

So, while you're exploring Kendal, you're also exploring the landscape that inspired generations of Postman Pat adventures. 📬🐈
