Morning all. There’s a particular coziness to the Lake District in autumn —a sense of slowing down and savoring simple pleasures. We love slow mornings, over coffee with a view, or evenings curled up with a book as the wind whistles outside. Whether you’re exploring quiet villages, hiking through golden valleys, or simply watching the shifting light on the lakes, autumn here has a magic that’s both peaceful and deeply comforting.
This time of year is an absolute favourite of mine and I love that just 20 minutes down the road from Dairy Lodge is Whinlatter Forest where the views whether on foot or on their fabulous bike routes never fail to disappoint.
As you can see Gus was on board with the photo shoots too 🥰

Morning everyone, Dairy Lodge is ready for summer. The outside of the building has had a fresh lick of paint and is looking amazing.

As we are continually improving Dairy Lodge I have included some updated pictures in the comments 🥰

The view in the picture below is around 25 mins walk from Dairy Lodge and is one of our favourite walks. When you reach Castlehead Viewpoint you have the most amazing views of Derwentwater and surrounding mountains.

This morning we played pitch and putt at Hope Park, from there you can head out the back of the park and after a short 5 minute walk over the hill brings you to these views 😍

Fitz Park has to be one of our favourite parks that is a 5 minute walk from Dairy Lodge. It is so beautifully kept with the most spectacular views 🌲 ⛰️ 🌺
