On 21st August 2026, we were delighted to welcome the lovely Hospitality Line Group to the Horse & Farrier! ❤️

What a fantastic group of customers — great company, plenty of smiles, and, of course, a few of our favourite local ales enjoyed along the way! 🍺😊

It was an absolute pleasure having you all with us, and we hope you enjoyed your visit as much as we enjoyed welcoming you.

🏍️✨ A Wonderful Visit from the Westmorland Motor Club ✨🏍️

On 15th July, we had the pleasure of welcoming members of the Westmorland Motor Club to the Horse & Farrier.

A big thank you to Barnes, Elvey, Elvey, Gutteridge, Taylor, Cottam, and Fishet for stopping by. It was fantastic to see such a wonderful collection of motorbikes and to meet such a friendly group of enthusiasts.

Our front-of-house team members, Keith and Hattie, couldn't resist the opportunity to snap a photo with these stunning bikes. Who knows… this could be the start of a new hobby, and we might just see them joining the club in the future! 😄

Thank you again for choosing to visit us. We hope to welcome the Westmorland Motor Club back to the Horse & Farrier again soon.

Our team is heart broken to share the news that Brian, our amazing breakfast chef, has passed away.

Brian joined us in 2020 and very quickly became a hugely valued part of our team. For the past few years he was always our first choice breakfast chef — someone we could rely on completely.

He was never late, always 100% dedicated, loyal and incredibly hardworking. No job was ever too much trouble for Brian, and he would always make sure every task on the list was finished before he left.

Brian wasn’t just a fantastic member of staff, he was a genuinely lovely person who brought warmth and kindness to the pub every single day.

He also shared a special connection to the pub through his brother Kenny, who worked with us previously and who we remember very fondly. It means a great deal to us that both of them were part of our story here.

We are incredibly grateful for everything Brian did for us. He will always be remembered as a valued member of our team and a truly lovely man.

Our thoughts are with their family in this difficult time 💛
