On Saturday the Keswick Red Squirrel Group had a meeting at the hostel. Members enjoyed a red squirrel ginger biscuit with their tea and coffee.😀 And on your next visit to the hostel you could see one or more red squirrels from our dining room window thanks to the continuing efforts of the group to keep the greys at bay.

If you find these lovely tub chairs and tables in your room on your next visit you can thank the Borrowdale Gates Hotel for another very generous donation of some of their surplus furniture to the hostel .Many thanks, we really appreciate it ! They look lovely in our rooms.

A huge thanks to all our amazing workaway volunteers this year, we couldn’t have done it without you! ❤️ Consti and Imogen are still with us for now and have helped us through a busy week with Dixons Trinity school and West Lakes Adventure. We will miss you !

On Monday night the hostel hosted Pack A Cubs from Keswick Scout group. They had a fun evening looking at the waterfall, doing the squirrel trail , and doing some activities including map making and board games. Fun was had by all!

Covid lockdowns and current pressures on finances are behind sales but there are hopes that buyers will operate the properties as indie hostels

Sad to hear of another 20 hostels being sold by the YHA. Hopefully they’ll join the growing band of thriving Independent Hostels.

20 Youth Hostels for sale. A golden opportunity for those wanting to escape the rat race and own their own rural business.

Wild fires continue to be a problem around Keswick which is why we don’t permit fires or disposable BBQs at the hostel. Please help us spread the word and reduce the risk of fire in the Lake District.
