Our Story

Lakeside Country Guest House is run by new owners Tim and Karen Howell. The guest house is an elegant Edwardian property quietly situated on the lake shore of Bassenthwaite Lake, with amazing views of the Skiddaw mountain range beyond the lake.

The house was built in 1904 for the boss of the "long gone" railway station. We are privileged to now own Lakeside and we aim to create a peaceful haven for our guests away from life's daily stresses. The setting alone will take your breath away and there is so much to see and do here, we are sure you will want to return time after time.
