Bike storage and drying facilities available for all adventures! James and Kate wish you a very warm welcome to Clarence House and hope that your stay with us is comfortable and enjoyable. We are situated in a quiet street, just a five minute walk away from the town centre of Keswick and ten minutes walk from the theatre and the lake. Clarence House is a detached Victorian residence built in 1892.

We hope that visitors will find the rooms warm, clean and above all, relaxing. James and Kate enjoy sharing their local knowledge and can help you with planning walks, finding things to do, recommending places to eat and drink and most other things you can think of! Thank you for looking at our page. We hope to see you soon and sharing our love of this special place with you. Sometimes it's nice to make the most of what we have on our doorstep. A lovely wander through Great Wood, down to the lake and back through Castlehead Woods. Some lovely ☀️ with ❄️ capped fells all around.

In search of the ☀️! Something a little different today. Headed to St Bees for a 🚶🚶‍♀️ along the coastal path in some lovely warming sunshine to battle against the chilly coastal wind. All finished with a nice cuppa in the cozy car as the girls played in the park. First class parenting 😉

The kids had a ball charging around Sale Fell in the 🌬️ this morning, timed perfectly before this afternoon's 🌧️!! What a lovely, easily accessible and family friendly Wainwright and another one ticked off for the girls.

Half term = family friendly adventures. So a lovely circular walk up to Barrow door and onto Barrow finishing with light refreshments in front of the fire at the 😉

Great to have the hills on our door step. A great long loop fell run of Derwent Water via Walla Crag and Catbells.

❄️ S T U N N I N G ❄️

A beautiful day for a fabulous walk. We started at Great Wood carpark, walked over to Ashness Bridge on the elevated path overlooking Derwentwater, up to Surprise View and then onto Lodore Falls.

A quick pit stop at a very cosy and then back to the car to get home and fire up the log burner.

If only every winter's day was like this..... ❄️❄️❄️
