Today we visited the annual herdwick tup sale at Cockermouth Auction.This is one of the farmers selling his tup for nearly £17,000. Well done to him!

Making hay while the sun shines ☀️☀️

This time last year we were recognised by the National Trust - North & West Lake District for having some of the best hay meadows in Cumbria with a visit from countryfile.

With last years weather not being as helpful as it has been this year we resulted in less hay (sun shined dry grass). This year has finally been better and we are now getting much more hay, which is a sigh of relief for most farmers.

With hay time being known as “Grab it while you can” it certainly is that when the weather plays on the good side.

With making our own crop means we can feed our livestock throughout the winter months without having to buy any in.

As they always say “make hay while the sun shines”
