With the announcement this morning from Airbnb we have removed our cleaning fees on both properties 🧹 we have never asked for linens to be stripped, that’s definitely our job! It’s much appreciated when they have been, but honestly, we don’t mind 🧺 I’m still trying to wrap my head around ‘Not washing and putting away dishes’, so please be patient with us on that one and I’ll update our listing. All of our guests are absolutely awesome! We understand that people’s versions of cleanliness vary, just like our personalities 🥰 so we are hoping that the standard of our properties reflect the respect we would like in return. It’s just kindness and courtesy. We always check and clean all dishes in between guests anyway. The smiles on our faces when we leave a property ready for you to make wonderful memories on the farms is bigger than you might think. We love it! You’re awesome!

The up and coming community excavation of a possible henge monument at Hollowcowhey Farm in the Peak District National Park is filling up with bookings fast, with only a few days between the 24th September and 8th October remaining.

If you are interested in joining in with the Farming in Protected Landscapes funded excavation (no experience required) contact: [email protected].

BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL TO JOIN IN!

In the meantime, why not explore this 3D model of the site produced during the dry weather of summer, during which time the buried ditch of the possible henge retained more moisture than the surrounding area, as such the ditch stands out as a green circle in an otherwise parched field. The model was produced by specialist Jonathan Gray.

The trench markers are out, the barn is ready for processing, and we are all running round like lunatics with a little over 24hours to go before we break ground! There’s a lot of giddy archeologists and farmers around here 😂

I cannot believe how fast this is coming round, while we frantically get ready to welcome you all to our farm 🚜 Vaughan, our amazing metal detectorist has kindly asked his work, Waitrose in Poynton to donate all our tea, coffee and biscuits. How kind is that! 13 days and counting 🪏

Just a quick note to say that any emails we have received so far around our big dig, will be passed onto the archeological team and will be answered shortly ☺️
