In honour of Father’s Day, The Oxford Arms proudly presents the most Dad activity imaginable: Guess the number of screws in 'THE JAR'

A jar filled with screws. Many screws. Possibly too many screws. But how many? Because nothing says ‘I love you, Dad’ like staring at a jar of random hardware and pretending you know things.

It’s £2 a guess, and we’ve got some brilliant prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd closest guesses.

🏆 1st Place: A fantastic Beer and Ribs Night for a table of 4 at The Oxford Arms

🏆 2nd Place: A whopping 9 pint keg of beer from Rebellion Beer Co.

🏆 3rd Place: A rather gorgeous bottle of red, kindly donated by Ellis Wines

The winners will be announced during the live music (more details to follow) on Father's Day and all proceeds will go directly towards some exciting upcoming improvements to our Beer Garden 🍺🌿

Kirtlington Lamb Ale 2026 – what a day! 🐑🍻

The Oxford Arms was absolutely buzzing from start to finish, with a fantastic atmosphere. It was wonderful to welcome so many familiar faces, along with plenty of new ones, all coming together to celebrate this much-loved village tradition.

A huge thank you to Scott, Struan and the entire team, who worked tirelessly through what turned out to be an incredibly busy day. Your hard work, energy and good humour didn't go unnoticed!

Special thanks also, to the wonderfully talented Patrick Foley, whose amazing live music provided the perfect soundtrack to the afternoon and kept everyone entertained throughout 🎶

And of course, a huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so memorable. We loved every minute of it and hope you did too.

Lamb Ale Sunday will see the very welcome return of Patrick Foley to The Oxford Arms for a very special set, in celebration of Kirtlington's age-old tradition.

You may remember Patrick from last summer - musical crowd pleasers, incredible vocals and an amazing rapport with his audience - this Sunday is not to be missed!

This Sunday at The Oxford Arms, we’ll be joining in the celebrations for the long-standing village tradition of Lamb Ale 🐑🍻

Join us for an afternoon of Morris Dancing, live music, and plenty of community spirit!

We’ll be serving our usual Sunday lunch menu, which just happens to include our special Antipasti Misto platter - perfect for sharing over a leisurely afternoon drink in the beer garden.

Whether you come for the roast, the dancing, or simply to soak up the atmosphere, we’d love to see you for one of the village’s most cherished traditions 🍺🐑🎶

There's still time to enter The Oxford Arms 'Bloom into Summer' raffle!

Up for grabs are three very special prizes...

An indulgent brunch for two at the award winning Kitchen Food Company Deli and Bistro in Summertown.

A fantastic meat hamper, generously supplied by Smith & Sons The Brackley Butcher.

An incredible hamper, abundant with goodies; wines and Prosecco from Ellis Wines and deli delights, also from Kitchen Food Company.

Tickets for the raffle are £5 a strip - you can choose your favourite and enter as many as you like into each draw. For your chance to win, just pop into the pub and ask at the bar. We also have a QR code so you can pay electronically, just in case you don't have any cash laying around!

The prize draws will take place this Lamb Ale Sunday at the pub, and we will also announce the lucky winning tickets across our social media platforms.
