Moorpark House is grand and stately but at the same time warm and welcoming and it is one of Scotland’s few 4 star venues dedicated – since January 2009 – almost entirely to weddings. It is owner occupied and run, the owner himself being Master of Ceremonies and his wife being wedding co-ordinator and chief meeter and greeter during the day. Because there is such personal involvement it almost goe
s without saying that great pride is taken in ensuring that what is the most important day in a person’s life goes not only smoothly but in a way where bride and groom and guests alike feel at ease and are able to fully enjoy their day. Moorpark House is extremely dog friendly the owner and his wife having two black Labradors who are the most affable dogs imaginable and who, because they see so many people every week of their lives, are very laid back. Guests accordingly are warmly invited to bring their own dogs – the Labradors like nothing more than playing with other dogs – and for them to stay over subject to them being well behaved, non- aggressive and “clean”. This said those not so enamoured of dogs and who might be allergic to them may be comforted by the fact that during weddings the Labradors are separated from the guests – they are effectively nowhere to be seen – and two of the bedrooms have and will at no time have dogs permitted to stay over in them. Not only are all weddings at Moorpark House on an exclusive use basis i.e. no guests are present who do not “belong” but it is a gated estate and when all guests are in the automated gates are closed making the venue not only very private but extremely safe with children and dogs in mind. In under 5 years Moorpark House has become an extremely popular wedding venue and with good reason. Any browser of this website is referred to Trip Advisor and the reviews which appear to see how the Moorpark experience has been enjoyed by others. This mid-Victorian Italianate mansion is the epitome of elegance and in the process of a recent multi million pound programme of renovation and extensions, the decoration and furnishing has been maximised to create the pre-eminent venue for weddings in Scotland with beautiful historical and traditional features linked to modern day comforts. From the moment one goes through the ancient wrought iron gates and travels the winding drive you enter a past age of splendour and undoubted privilege. From the gates the magnificent frontage is seen to maximum advantage and, unlike other Ayrshire wedding venues, it is not a hotel. To all appearances it is a Victorian baronial mansion exclusively preserved for you and your intended to enjoy the most important day of your lives. Across Scotland, UK and Europe the Moorpark House is a unique castle wedding venue. It is in effect a pocket sized stately home but with a tremendously warm feel heightened by operational log fires and of a size that is perfect for the vast majority of weddings that desire exclusivity and total privacy. Very conveniently situated between Glasgow International and Glasgow Prestwick Airports – 20 minutes from the former and 30 minutes from the latter – and just at the end of the M8 motorway it is one of the most easily accessible wedding venues in Scotland – from anywhere in Scotland by car, or the UK or Europe by car or low cost flights. For the convenience of your guests we have a special arrangement with the 4 star Menzies Hotel in Irvine with prices exclusively reduced to a maximum of £75 (2013 price) for all its 123 rooms. Situated only 15 minutes from the Glasgow/ Prestwick Airport/ Ryanair and 30 minutes from Glasgow Airport/ Easyjet shuttle arrangements can be made, albeit at the guests’ expense, between the Menzies Hotel and the Moorpark House making weddings a very desirable and financially attractive idea.
