We were delighted to host a group who took part in 'Weaving Our Past Into Our Future'. This is a new Newry, Mourne and Down PEACEPLUS programme which launched last week in Tommy's Cottage at Hanna’s Close.
The day included a welcome talk from Norma Fisher about life growing up in the Close followed by a traditional weaving demonstration and finished with Granny Hanna's famous soda bread making demo.
The programme continues weekly at the Nautilus Centre in Kilkeel.
Pictured at the launch with Councillor Terry Andrew’s, Chair of Newry, Mourne & Down PEACEPLUS Partnership, are participants, guests and facilitators.
Weaving our Past is funded by PEACEPLUS, a cross-border funding programme supported by the European Union, the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Government of Ireland, and the Northern Ireland administration.
