August is all but over and that signals our 2026 summer is at an end! What a summer it has been. July and August saw guests from all arts and parts visit. Famillies, couples and groups all booked to stay with 🎉US🎉. A big THANK YOU to each and everyone we hosted, it was a pleasure. Life will probably be a bit slower for a day or two!

Monday! I was recently asked what is the most satisfying thing about my job. My reply was, guests returning. It's the biggest compliment. That someone comes back reassures me, often you don't really know what you do right. You do know when you do something wrong (We have the scars to show that 🫣). This week we've had a number of return guests. I don't know why they all come back, the reasons vary, but it is a pleasure and a responsibility to welcome, host and care for them during their stay.

Its been a very busy few weeks , with guests from a variety of places visiting us. For once I wasn't directing them to all things "Mourne" instead they all experienced Belfast at its absolute best. The Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann - what a show Belfast put on. I've sat through hours of talks about tourism over the past 10 years, Golf, Giant Spirit, Giant Experiences, Game of Thrones. Geoparks the list could go on. Often the impact has been hard to see. The Fleadh has been different, this week long celebration had heart, soul and warmth. I can't really describe it. I remember a Belfast with barricades and bag searches (many of us do), this week Belfast was a city where my family along with hundreds of others danced in the streets! ❤️

The garden has been a cricket pitch, a badminton court and a croquet lawn this summer. That's not forgetting the sun bathing, picnics and the countless trips to the slide! Its been a total joy to be at The Green and hear the happy cheers and roars when a game of rounders is in full swing.
