⚓ 110 YEARS ON – A TRAGEDY WE MUST NEVER FORGET

On the night of 3rd November 1916, two ships collided in the stormy waters of Carlingford Lough.

Within minutes, 94 lives were lost.

The SS Connemara and SS Retriever disaster remains one of the darkest chapters in our local maritime history.

110 years later, Newry Maritime Association invites you to discover the remarkable story behind this tragedy.
