Nearby is the Tamar Lake activity centre with watersports and coarse fishing, within 20 minutes is the North Devon wake park, still in North Devon The Big Sheep family attraction near the ancient port town of Bideford and the picturesque fishing village of Clovelly.
The nearest beach is just 10 minutes away, Head to Bude for more beaches surfing or shopping and there is the Segway and outdoor pursuits, an 18 hole golf links, boating on the canal and pony trekking.
For walkers there is the coastpath, many country footpaths and forestry walks to enjoy all within a short drive. The Tarka trail is easily reached and well worth visiting, either for walking or cycling. There is a nearby footpath that leads to Tamar Lakes and it's cafe, and the more adventurous can walk just over a mile up the quiet country road and then follow a footpath all the way to Bude, through wooded valleys and along the coast path.
For day trippers Boscastle and Tintagel are a little way down the coast, or head inland for some spectacular countryside or maybe a visit to RHS Rosemoor at Torrington.

A basic site, set in a meadow overlooking Tamar Lake and with far reaching views of some of the many tors on Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, including the iconic Brentor Church and all the way to Princetown at the top of the Moor.
Part of the camping field , along with the rest of the holding, is currently in a wildlife and environment program including some winter bird food while another part is currently being planted with an old fashioned wild flower meadow mixture for insects and pollinators, with an ancient woodland next to the camping field it is certainly a haven for wildlife.
Dogs are welcome with responsible owners, on or off the lead, but please pick up after them, a waste bin is provided by the site entrance gate next to the chemical waste tank
Aimed primarily at motorhomes and caravans, day vans with awnings or tents are welcome too, there are no showers, but a mains water standpipe, a portaloo, recycling bins and a blue waste tank.
There is a communal fire pit, logs are available and barbecues are welcome, responsibly used and disposed of.
Easy access off a quiet country lane but only 5 minutes from the main A39. Local shops, pubs and takeaways are just over a 5 minute drive away. Venture another 10 minutes and you will arrive in the seaside resort of Bude with all of its amenities, the nearest beaches are just a 10 minute hop in the car
