Time and time again people are advised not to give their pets away on free sites,everyone sees the warnings, are aware of the risks yet FB is full of animals being given away free.We don’t normally discuss this as we focus on the animals we can save and that come into us..however…sometimes it really hits hard just how impossible it is for us to keep tying to stop animals being at risk and we just aren’t touching the surface.Today thanks to everyone working together we brought in an emergency dog who was due to die today through no fault of his. He’s a young lad who was given away to a “wonderful home” who promised the world…the truth was far from that and he found himself as a stray not 24 hours later and had been attacked by a resident dog…he had been a much loved pet and in less than 24 hours his life was doomed…another large breed dog when many rescues are not accepting big bull breeds as they take so,so long to find the right home for. He was booked to be pts today and thanks to Malcolm and Fiona for keeping him safe, to Caleih for offering us more kennel space even though we are bursting with large breeds and Graham for collecting him…our new boy is safe. He didn’t deserve this…no dog does…he isn’t the first and sadly won’t be the last to be “rehomed” on free sites…we are emptying the ocean with a teaspoon and it’s heartbreaking 💔

Great places to paddle board a short drive away at Lintrathen reservoir, backwater reservoir, loch clunie or river Isla.
