Rosal Forest is less that 2 miles from the house and offers a fantastic way to spend the morning. Plus if you have an interest in history, this beautiful forest walk takes you to the highland clearance village named Rosal, and it is so heart wrenching to walk through the ruins of what was once a thriving community.

Now personally I'm not a fan of snow...however, even I must admit how pretty it looks in the morning. 🥰🥶

Its always good on windy blustery days to look back on how pretty an area we live in, preferably from in front of the cosy log burning stove.

Walking in a complete winter wonderland today! Temperature stayed below freezing today... definitely a day for hot drinks and cozying up by the log burner in the living room!

Farr beach is personally our favourite beach, situated in Bettyhill, just a 20 minute drive from the house! Its stunning in all weathers, and even when its busy, it's not. Definitely worth a visit and I would highly recommend a trip.

We happened to get married here....

17 Rowan House is situated on a working croft. (Which is basically a small farm).

Our ewes have finished lambing, so the fields are bouncing with the joy of Spring.

We also have chickens, and can provide you with fresh eggs for your stay. (The children will anyway). Nothing beats the taste of fresh eggs, and we will even happily arrange a meeting between you and the hens should you wish to know where your eggs have come from.

(My favourite is Nigel. She is the biggest little chicken you will ever meet.)
