We had a great day yesterday at the lovely Bircham Windmill - one of our favourite cafe stops when out on our bikes and thoroughly recommended.

They make all their own bread and cakes on site and couldn’t be more friendly.

Karlos as usual, had to have a dress-up moment. I think he makes a rather fetching miller!

In the 17th century King's Lynn was the most fortified town in the East. Its ramparts, gates and earthworks stood against armies and time itself.

Follow the line of the old defences and uncover the story of the 1643 siege — when King's Lynn's loyalty was tested, its walls bombarded, and its people caught between Crown and Parliament.

Hear of how the geography of the town has changed, hiding much of the original fortifications but also about where the surviving sections can still be seen.

Multi-platinum artist Christina Aguilera has been announced as the final headliner for this summer’s Heritage Live Festival at the Sandringham Estate.

The seven-time Grammy Award winner will perform on Friday 21 August in what is set to be her only UK appearance of 2026.

Joining her on the bill are special guests Craig David with his TS5 show, Blue, and rising alt-pop star Ruby Roberts.

Aguilera completes a huge Heritage Live line-up, alongside Janet Jackson, Lionel Richie, Ricky Martin and Eric Clapton.
