Many of you will have seen the recent damage to the Slapton Line. It’s a worrying time for our community, but we want to reassure everyone that local businesses remain open and would really appreciate your support.

If you’re visiting or travelling between Chillington and Dartmouth, the best access at the moment is via Kingsbridge, which remains clear and straightforward. Visiting Torcross and the wonderful Start Bay Inn is unaffected from our side of the closure.

Our pubs, cafés, shops, and local businesses are open as normal, and now more than ever they rely on visitors and locals choosing to come out and support them. Please don’t assume everything is closed — it isn’t, and your custom makes a real difference.

Caroline Voaden has also started a petition regarding the Slapton Line — please consider signing and sharing to help ensure our community’s voice is heard.

It’s that time of year again when the evenings draw in and we turn our attention to all things cosy! This morning we’ve been doubling up the duvets for snuggly nights ahead — because nothing beats a toasty bed after a blustery autumn walk. Next up, we’re reviewing our pillow selection (yes, we take pillow comfort very seriously!) to make sure every guest gets that “ahhh” feeling when they lie down. Small touches, big comfort — that’s what Chillington House is all about. 🍂🛏️
