We're delighted to share that Burgh Island has been shortlisted in the Fine Dining category at the Food Drink Devon Hospitality Awards.

Our Grand Ballroom and Nettlefold Restaurant are both in contention for a Gold Award and the overall 'Best in' category, recognising the exceptional food and hospitality that our team strives to deliver every day.

We’ve added an extra date to our Murder Mystery calendar, with a special one-night experience on Thursday 26th November.

The evening begins with cocktails and canapés in Palm Court before the mystery draws you into the Grand Ballroom for dinner, intrigue and a cast of suspicious characters. Dress for the occasion, follow the clues and see if you can uncover the culprit before the night is through.

Your stay includes the full Murder Mystery experience, dinner, overnight accommodation and breakfast the following morning.

Fifteen years ago, swimmers first set out to circumnavigate Burgh Island in support of the . This August, that tradition continues. On Sunday 23rd August, around 250 swimmers will once again take to the water for the 15th Chestnut Appeal Burgh Island Swim, raising vital funds for men's health while taking on one of the South West's most distinctive open water swims. For those on shore, it's a day that brings the island to life. Supporters gather along the coastline to cheer swimmers on as they make their way around the island, creating an atmosphere that's become part of the Burgh Island summer calendar. We're proud to support the event alongside our fellow sponsors, Marchand Petitchandpetit. Registration opens on the beach from 9am, with the swim beginning at 11am. Some mornings on Burgh Island begin with a sea swim. This one begins with Pilates 🌿

On 27th August, our Mermaid Pool becomes the setting for two morning Pilates sessions with Lauren from Root Pilates, where fresh sea air and the rhythm of the waves accompany every movement.

The sound of the sea has a remarkable way of putting everything else into perspective 🌊
