BREAKING NEWS! Campfires have returned to Kingsdown Camping! 🔥

Following a site assessment along with the very welcome rain we’ve had over the last week, we have received confirmation from Kent County Council and Kent Fire Service, that we can once again have contained campfires at Kingsdown Camping!

However this is subject to these non negotiable rules:
1. Fires are only allowed in fire baskets hired from us.
2. You must NOT leave a lit campfire unattended.
3. You must NOT load/burn wood above the top rim.
4. You MUST have a container of water on standby.
5. All fires must be burnt out by 11:30pm.
6. No campfires in our woodland or within 5m of hedgerows.
7. Report any fire issue immediately on the red phone outside reception.

Fire baskets will be removed from anyone that doesn’t follow our simple rules.

DISPOSABLE BBQS STILL BANNED

As per the Government guidelines, these are banned from our campsite. We are still allowing the use of gas stoves for cooking and heating water. Gas BBQs also allowed if not heating coals. All MUST be raised off the ground before use.

It really is that simple! So for those who cannot go camping without a campfire, we’d love to welcome you back before the end of the season!

🔥 IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR ALL CAMPERS 🔥

We’re really sorry to have to share this news, but due to today’s government restrictions, campfires, fire pits and BBQs are now banned at our campsite.

We know that sitting around a fire, cooking outdoors and enjoying a BBQ is a huge part of the camping experience — and we’re just as disappointed as you are. 😔

Unfortunately, this is a rule we must follow, for the safety of all our campers and we won’t be able to allow fires, fire pits or BBQs anywhere on site.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation while we work within these temporary measures, until we have some rainfall.

We’ll continue to do everything we can to make your stay enjoyable — even without the flames!

Please share this with anyone who has a booking with us so they’re aware before arriving.

Tent Camping on an Electric Pitch? 🏕️⚡️

We get asked about this a lot. So here’s what you need to know…

There is a universal 3 prong cable which is the standard campsite hook up plug type, you’ll need one of these to connect to our electric hook up pitches (see pictured in video).

You can buy hook up cables from any good camping retailer (we also have a small supply in our onsite shop) and if you’re planning to use it to charge your electrical goods, you’ll need to make sure the other end of the cable has a standard 240V plug socket to do so.

Please note: when using this type of cable to draw electric, you need to make sure the 240V plug socket end in concealed inside your tent so not to be exposed to any water or spillages for safety reasons.

Your electric pitch will be providing you electric for the duration of your stay and is an additional £12 per night to book.

We have 25 grass electric pitches available (not hard standing) and these are available on a first come, first served basis when booking. If you can’t see it as an available option when booking, it means they are fully booked.

We’ve got you covered in our onsite shop. From sun cream, to ice cream, cold drinks and ice. You’ll find all the essentials to help keep you cool at our campsite.

As you know we’re expecting extreme heat over this weekend, so please ensure you bring suitable clothing and essentials to keep yourself and your children refreshed, cool and protected when staying with us.

We want everyone to have a great time onsite, so you can also benefit from:
