Hello from Arden House and Happy New Year to all our friends and family.

I’m afraid that this will be the last post from us as Arden House has been sold and it appears the new owners no longer intend to continue running it as a B&B.

On behalf of Graham and myself, I just wanted to thank all our guests, family and friends who have supported us over the past 5 years.

We have welcomed so many lovely, fascinating and wonderful people from all over the world to our little highland pad and it is with genuine sadness that we have to say goodbye.

We’d like to especially thank our return guests and all our regulars as seeing you each year was like welcoming old friends. Of course, we are aware that many of you just came back for Isla and Ozzy but that was fine 😊.

I’ve selected a few memories from our time here in Kingussie. I hope you enjoy.

So, wishing you all a prosperous 2023 and, as we say in Scotland, may yer lum always reek x

Best wishes

Janet

Fancy a spot of wild swimming in the Spey? There are dozens of beautiful places just 5 minutes from Arden House where you can enjoy a dip (or a paddle) and we can provide the towels. No better way to cool off after a long walk

On 18 May, these three absolute wee beauties were welcomed into the world at Highland Wildlife Park. Last week they made their first outing to the public and some of our guests were lucky enough to get some of the first snaps of them out with mum, Dominika, and kind enough to give us permission to share the photo's (thank you Dr Laing). They are endangered Amur tiger cubs and were born at the park as part of HWP's endangered species breeding programme. We can't wait to see them for ourselves and, as ever, you're more than welcome to book at stay with us and see these wee gems for yourself as we're only 4 miles from the park. Can't wait to see them grow.

A BIG HELLO to all friends and followers of Arden House. It's hard to believe that it's been over year now since we had to close our doors, apart from a few weeks last summer. However, we're delighted to announce that we will be opening again at the end of April to welcome guests from the rest of the UK, as unfortunately we can't yet welcome overseas travelers. But, in the meantime, here are a few updates that we think will be of interest, especially if you're planning a trip to the Highlands for what will be a very well earned break...

We will be running some special offers in May that will apply to direct bookings, so watch this space for details...

We achieved the Visit Scotland 'Good to Go' standard, which means we have all the required Covid-19 safety measures in place for your peace of mind.

Plans are underway to offer guests 'occasion packages' to allow you celebrate with us if you have a birthday or anniversary coming up, with that little bit extra added to make it even more special - again, more details to follow...

As this is the year of the staycation, we'll be providing regular updates about upcoming events and lots of information about the many, many fantastic things to do and see up here in the Cairngorms...

And, as there is still some uncertainty out there, we're offering a full deposit refund throughout May and June if you need to cancel at the last minute.

So, from us here at Arden House, we would like to wish everyone a very Happy Easter and can't wait to welcome you all once again to Arden House,

Love from Janet & Graham ###

Well, the sun is eventually out here in Kingussie and so are the daffodils. It’s ever so strange as at this time of year our wee Highland town is usually buzzing with visitors and tourists but, like everywhere else, the streets are deserted and we are unable to invite you to join us here at Arden House. We are closed for the foreseeable future and we miss welcoming our guests terribly. However, we are thankful that we are safe and well and truly hope all of our Facebook friends and followers are too.

Oh, and a wee reminder that if you do have a booking with us, we have a 7 day cancellation period but if you prefer to move your booking to later in the year, or to next year, then just contact us and we can arrange this.

Anyhoos, here are a few pics from our daily dog walks and I’ve included a link to Visit Scotland, who have put together a video about how absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Take care everyone and stay safe. Love and best wishes
Janet & Graham
