We have been away in Perthshire a few days, but on the way back i could see the Cree was at a nice height, so i gave it a cast tonight. A couple of hours fishing and i had a couple of Grilse from boat pool .. both very fresh. Sorry about the terrible video work - not easy to put a fish back and video it lol .. 😆 The cree came up a couple of feet, but sadly the Bladnoch only rose about 5 inches - need more rain, but the Cree in good condition ..

I got one of those large June fish this morning, that are still kicking about .,...... 14 or 15 lb from Colonels pool bottom end of Cree .. it fought like a trojan ..

The Grilse are starting to come , I had this from the Ling - river Bladnoch. Safely returned ( did not manage a video as it slipped out of my hand ) 5 mins later I lost another at the net 🎣🎣🎣🎣

Due to a cancellation we have Sunday 16-23 August now available in Smithy - £400 for the week. Fishing is available too at an extra cost ..

Mochrum Park provides self catering holiday cottages in scotland with superb salmon fishing and golf available nearby.

As some of you may know i have decided to scale back a little and no longer offer the Lodge to rent as a holiday cottage this year. The lodge is now listed for sale through Williamson & Henry a link can be found below. Any enquiries for the lodge should be directed to [email protected]

There are no changes for the Coach House and Smithy both of which are available to book as normal

Victorian ‘C’ listed detached 2 bedroom lodge dating back to the late 19th century which formed part of the former Mochrum Park Estate.

Here is a screen shot, showing just how far away the Greylag and Osprey pair are at nest 2.

On the left, a greylag goose settled in, doing things her own way.
On the right, the osprey pair building, working, shaping their own nest.

Same tree. Different lives.

It is a good reminder that nature does not need managing at every turn. Give it space, and it works things out.

Good to see this kind of behaviour playing out naturally at Threave. 👍
