Wigtown Book Festival is an annual 10-day book festival in Scotland’s National Book Town from 25th September to 4th October. A scenic 40-minute drive along the coast, it is well worth a visit when in the area. For more details and to book, please see the link below 👇.

Castle Douglas Parkrun ✅!

What a beautiful morning and start to the day. Castle Douglas is just 8 miles along the road from Kircudbright and host the Carlingwark Loch parkrun every Saturday morning. We have started to make this a ‘thing’ when back and it’s been a lot of fun. I was joined this morning by Donald Dunlop High Kirkland Holidays who visitors to 118 High Street and 14 Union Street will know well.

I ran one of my best parkrun’s this morning – clearly my diet of haggis and chips followed by deep fried mars bar is working well 🤦‍♀️. Post run treats at The Earth's Crust Bakery 🥖 🥐 are highly recommended! It’s good to take the time to enjoy some of the highlights of the Castle Douglas food town when staying too 😋

Summer evenings in Kirkcudbright….. had the most delicious food from the Skipper’s Scran Van | Hot Seafood Trailer tonight in the beautiful sunshine, perfect 👌!

Scottish Night in Kirkcudbright! A brilliant and fun night organised by every Thursday in August. Well worth a visit. We loved the Scottish pizza with an irn bru of course, in before hand😋. A brilliant night for all ages to enjoy.

Panini from Masterpiece Sandwich Bar, always a favourite when grabbing a quick lunch on the go and so handy, just round the corner from both High Street and Union Street. 🪴😋☀️
