Welcome to the historic Yellow Door, a pet friendly self-catering cosy retreat, which stands on the same cobbled wynd on which stained-glass artist E A Taylor and his wife, illustrator Jessie M King and other artists used to live. The cottage sleeps four, has its own garden space with seating at the bottom of the close with views across the rooftops of this distinctive picturesque town. The Yellow

Door is a lovingly restored two bedroomed cottage, in the oldest part of Kirkcudbright, in the Greengate Close which runs off the High Street. The Yellow Door, along with the four other cottages on this close benefit from a good degree of privacy and a peaceful location which is at the same time central and convenient for the amenities of the harbour town of Kirkcudbright.

Our fantastic volunteers will be leading short tours of the Colour: The Palette of S.J. Peploe exhibition on Tuesdays (2.30pm), Thursdays (11am) and Saturdays (2.30pm), beginning Tuesday 23rd June. There is no need to book, let our front of house team know that you would like to join the tour.
