Welcome to Karrawa Guest House, a family run establishment offering comfortable and well-appointed accommodation in Kirkwall, the main town in the Orkney Islands. All of our rooms are en suite, have tea & coffee making facilities, hair dryer and free wifi. We have 1 x Double and 2 x King size bedrooms located on the ground floor and 2 x twin bed rooms and 1 x family room located on the first floor

. We are both local to Orkney and have a vast knowledge of the area and can help make the most of your time during your visit.

As 2025 comes to a close and the New Year begins, we would like to take a moment to thank you for being part of our journey.

Your visits, support, and kind words mean more to us than we can say, and we are truly grateful for the memories shared within our guest house over the past year.

We are excited to be adding an extra room to our Guest House so we can offer you 7 wonderful rooms to choose from.

The much-loved Tomb of the Eagles in Orkney will reopen for the first time in six years at the beginning of September.

🎉Here is your Guide to the Opening Ceremony (all Welcome!) taking place tomorrow, Saturday 12th July
at Bignold Park.
🥳 Free to attend - there's space for up to 3,000 spectators (as well as 2,500 competitors and officials!), we recommend you arrive early to avoid disappointment
🚪Use the entrance at the top of The Meadows (not the main gate)
🚫 No parking on-site - the road will be closed for the parade
🚌 Use the Park & Ride from Orkney Auction Mart

⏰ Timings:
15:15: Gates open
15:30: Entertainment begins
17:00: Ceremony officially starts
17:30: Athletes’ parade kicks off

☀️ Don’t forget water and suncream, it’s going to be a scorcher!
