📢 ‼️ 🚨 Big announcement! HUGE! 🚨‼️📢

On this day in 2018, I welcomed my first guests, and in just under 4 weeks I will be waving off my last, because Monamore is closing permanently on 29th May!

Since buying this house 8 years ago I have endured monumental personal traumas and challenges. I kept these hidden - guests wouldn’t have known - but I have struggled, and Monamore has been my constant. Without it, plus the unwavering support of my family and friends, I would have been lost.

THANK YOU to my guests over the years. For the compliments and the kindness which has been so appreciated, and for the feedback which helped me shape Monamore into what she has become.

I am so proud of what I have achieved. A young woman, running a guest house single-handed, proving that I can do anything 💪

I don’t know where life will take me next, but I trust the universe will provide. (After some well-earned time off and travelling! ✈️ 🏝️ 🌍)

This Mother's Day I highlight the prodigious skill of my own excellent mum, who can do ANYTHING with a sewing machine and worked extremely hard during the refurbishment of Monamore back in 2018.
She covered 8 armchairs, 10 dining chairs, made 6 sets of black-out curtains, 2 blinds, covered 4 over-sized headboards and made all the throws and scatter cushion covers!
Thanks Mum - the soft furnishings still look amazing, 8 years on.

Spotted through the window at Monamore - a goldcrest! Along with the firecrest it is Britain's smallest bird, measuring a mere 9cm and weighing just 6g.

🦡 I know not everybody is a fan of badgers but I love them, and was thrilled to recently watch this gorgeous being just one metre from my back door, hoovering up peanuts left by the birds! 🦡

A wonderful day walking up to Mullach Mhor on Holy Isle, just off the east coast of Arran! ☀️ ⛰️ 😎

I highly recommend visiting for the tranquility, the wildlife, and the tremendous views 🐑 🐴
