In all seriousness though, pigs are especially vulnerable to heat, and cooling them in summer isn’t just about comfort—it’s essential for their health.

Unlike many animals, pigs have very few functional sweat glands, so they can’t cool themselves efficiently by sweating. When temperatures rise, they rely on water or mud to cool their body temperature.

Mud acts as a natural sunscreen and cooling lotion for pigs 🧖‍♀️
