🖤Did you know that here in the Cambrian Mountains, we have some of the darkest skies in Europe.
🌌 Even here on the hillside above Lampeter the skies are dark enough to see a million stars and even the Milky Way. These pictures were all taken around the cottages and Picnic Meadow.
✨For me, stargazing is awe-inspiring, calming and uplifting all at the same time. Come and stay with us for cosy evenings, quiet countryside, and skies full of stars waiting just outside your door.

🏡We love a slow morning up here on the hillside.
Watching the sunshine burn through the early mist.
Seeing the willow fluff floating down like tiny snowflakes outside Woodpecker Cottage.
Noticing the fresh new green leaves and tiny flowers on the Beech trees.
Admiring the blossom while listening to the Chiffchaff’s song.
Marvelling at the pond-wrigglers and my freshly-emerged mason bees in the greenhouse.

🌟Our luxury Bird Hide is finished and ready to book. We’ve decided to call it Misty Heights because of our unique position up on the hillside.

We put food in various places to tempt the birds in. And Leigh has designed lots of creative perches that are very photogenic.

Inside the bird hide is designed for comfort. Underfloor heating keeps it cosy and there is plenty of space to get a great view of the action outside.

The view of the perches with the valley below is stunning.

We are getting a great variety of birds visiting so far…
Goldfinches…Blue tits…Greater Spotted Woodpecker…Chaffinches…Coal T**s…Nuthatches...Great T**s are here every day, along with Robins, Wrens, Blackbirds, Sparrows & Dunnocks. Also making an appearance around the bird hide are Treecreepers, Siskins, Goldcrests, Mistle and Song Thrushes, Redstarts, Greenfinches, Bullfinches, Stonechats, and Jays. You will see Ravens, Red Kites, Buzzards and the odd Sparrowhawk flying overhead too.
