In the heart of historic Lancaster, The Toll House Inn (was Penny Street Bridge) is an ideal location for exploring the city on foot or heading out to the coast and countryside. Originally the site of the old Toll House at the gateway to the city, the imposing Victorian listed building has a wealth of architectural features inside- all of which have been retained as part of major re-development in 2007.

Some traditions are worth keeping. Tomorrow, our famous venison wellington takes pride of place on the menu. Golden pastry wrapped around rich, flavourful venison, served with all the trimmings and plenty of gravy. Simple, hearty and made for autumn evenings. Welly Wednesday returns tomorrow, serving every Wednesday until 18th November.

Reopen Wednesday 7th @ 5pm…

Unfortunately, due to damage caused by flooding a few weeks ago, we are having to close for a short period to install some brand new water heaters to the building.

We’ll be closed this evening, all day tomorrow and Wednesday lunch, reopening fully at 5pm on Wednesday.

Sorry if you were planning on visiting for food and drink, please come and see us when we’re back open!
