General information
• Lower Thrushgill is a family home in the north west of England. The weather is changeable and can range from glorious sunshine to torrential rain in the space of a couple of hours. We suggest you bring waterproofs and suitable footwear if you intend to get out and about. You might also like to bring a warm pullover as even on warm days the breeze can have a nip to it. • We are off the beaten track but you don’t need a 4x4 to reach us. We’ll send you detailed directions with your booking confirmation. • If you would like to get the train to either Lancaster, Bentham or Wennington for a small charge we can arrange to collect you. (Of course, we’ll drop you back after the weekend too!) • If you have any special dietary needs, please let us know in advance. Our emphasis is on traditional farmhouse fare and home baking but we can certainly cater for everyone as long as we have notice. • Thrushgill is not licensed. If you would like to bring your own drinks, we have a cork screw. The nearest pub is about five miles away. • Lower Thrushgill is home to dogs and cats. They are not allowed upstairs but they are part of the family so please be aware if you have any allergies. There are ponies, geese and chickens in the field – all are friendly but again, steer clear if they make you sneeze. • We recommend that you take out holiday insurance. Thrushgill is a very rural area with rough paths and stiles to negotiate, so please be aware. • We will provide all materials for our Creativity Weekend 1-4th August, 2014. If you fancy trying clay modelling, bring an old shirt or an apron, just in case.
