🎄 Who wants to spend Christmas in the swimming pool?! 🏊

We've had a cancellation at Gray Manes in Somerset, which means Christmas 2026 is unexpectedly available!

If you're still trying to find somewhere to get the whole family together this Christmas, have a look at this gorgeous house.

There's a private heated indoor swimming pool, a games room, six en-suite bedrooms, a huge cosy living room with a log burner and plenty of space for everyone to enjoy Christmas together.

And the dogs don't have to miss out either! We're dog friendly with no set limit on numbers, by arrangement. 🐾

Whether it's Christmas morning in the pool, a big family dinner or an evening of games by the fire, there's something for everyone.

If you're visiting Somerset over the next few weeks, here's one to add to your list... 💜

The lavender fields at Somerset Lavender are in full bloom, and they're every bit as beautiful as you'd imagine. Wander through the rows of lavender, take in the scent of summer and don't forget your camera!

It's places like this that make a countryside escape so special – discovering somewhere you probably wouldn't have found otherwise.

People book for one thing and end up talking about something completely different.

Usually everyone arrives excited about the pool.

Then somehow the games get competitive, dinner runs late and somebody starts keeping score 😅

This is usually the point in the weekend where nobody knows what time it is anymore.

The day’s done.
Someone’s opened a bottle.
Dinner’s nearly ready.
People drift in and out and suddenly everyone ends up in the same place again.

Summer stays always seem to stretch the evenings a bit longer.

Things people forget to check when booking for a big group 👀

Not the exciting bits. The boring bits that make or break the weekend.

✔ Enough seating for everyone to actually eat together
✔ Kitchen space that can cope with feeding a crowd
✔ Somewhere to escape when you want five minutes quiet
✔ Parking that doesn’t become a negotiation
✔ Enough bathrooms (honestly… underrated)

Looks obvious but once you’ve organised one big family trip you never forget it 😅

We love reading what people actually enjoyed most because it’s not always the things you expect.

For this group it was everything from the pool and games room to having everyone together in one place without feeling on top of each other.

10 guests, kids, dogs… and a weekend that clearly made some good memories.
