Tucked away in a tranquil meadow amidst the apple orchards and leafy woodlands in the heart of cider country in rural Herefordshire, our wonderful yurt offers a little corner of England to escape the fast pace of everyday life. Set within 10 acres on our smallholding just outside Ledbury, Buttercup Yurt is tucked away in its own meadow with views over the rolling countryside and is adjacent to 300

acres of woodland. Wildlife abounds, with buzzards wheeling in the sky and deer, foxes and badgers going about their daily lives in the wood and meadow. Traditionally, a yurt is a mongolian nomadic tent that entire families live in whilst moving their livestock, however we like to think of ours as more of a home from home. It can accommodate up to 5 people and the double bed has white bedlinen, extra blankets and thick rugs complimented by a hotch potch of rustic furniture to provide you with a more comfortable alternative to camping, or 'glamping'as it is sometimes called. For cooler autumn evenings, the wood burner in the yurt will provide a cosy environment in which to enjoy a glass of wine or a game of cards. Wake in the morning to a hot shower (and a flushing loo!) and make yourself a fresh cup of tea or coffee, or full cooked breakfast, in your own rural kitchen to set you up for a day of exploring the local area. The pretty market town of Ledbury and the historic cathedral city of Hereford both provide the opportunity for a gentle stroll around the shops, and for the more adventurous there are walks and cycle routes aplenty with perhaps a spot of lunch at the local pubs and village inns. A little further afield are the rolling Malvern Hills, the dramatic Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons and the River Wye provides an alternative way of exploring the local countryside as you canoe downstream to the famous Symonds Yat gorge and Goodrich castle. As the sun sets you can cook up a feast in the kitchen or sizzle some sausages on the barbeque under the stars and sit on the decking or by the campfire, overlooking the meadow as a relaxing end to the day. Buttercup meadow is perfect for a long weekend for a group of friends, a romantic getaway or a family adventure. If you are coming on a family holiday and grandma and grandpa want to come as well, but don't fancy the "glamping" bit, we have a very comfortable B & B or self catering option in the Granary Barn at reasonable prices www.woodendfarmhouse.co.uk. We really do think this is a special place and we hope you will too.
