We're on the telly, and we're still not quite over it! 📺❤️

White House Cottages has been featured in Mini Escapes - a segment on BBC One's Escape to the Country where former city dwellers share how moving to the countryside changed their lives.

Jules Hudson and his team came to see us in Aylton, tried the local produce, and we rode our tandem together to taste life in the slow lane. We got a proper slice of countryside life and shared the story of what brought us here - and why we've never looked back.

Turns out we had plenty in common - Jules, like Paul, is a proud Visit Visit Herefordshire Tourism Ambassador, and he and his partner run their own beautiful shepherd's hut retreat in the Wye Valley. 🐑

One of our favourite moments? Sharing a glass of award-winning fizz from 1276 Wines | Herefordshire Vineyard & Winery - just one of the amazing adventures our guests can enjoy while staying with us. 🥂

A special thank you to Jules and the Escape to the Country crew - this is a moment we will remember for the rest of our lives ❤️

Fresh eggs collected from up the lane before breakfast. Ancient orchards to wander through with the dogs off-lead. Dark skies and a telescope ready to go when the evening draws in.

Throughout the summer we'll be sharing what's right on our doorstep — the small things, the local things, the things that make a stay here feel like more than just a place to sleep.

The British summer is doing its thing right now - long evenings, warm enough to sit outside, light until almost ten. The school holidays are here and the weeks have a way of disappearing faster than you expect.
