We do not allow group gathering in the grounds. Please do not break lock down rules if you do you will be asked to leave the grounds. There will be no exceptions the law currently states no group gatherings.

Monk Fryson Hall Hotel grounds are closed today 24th and 25th of February, to allow for the peaceful passing away of a much-loved family pet who will be put to sleep in the gardens this afternoon around 3pm.

We would very much appreciate having some private time at this moment as it will be very upsetting for our other animals.

Monk Fryston Hall would like anyone with an outstanding gift voucher to get in touch with us. Due to covid 19 we are concerned that some of you will have missed out on your gift vouchers. Our system is still showing unused gift vouchers. If you are one of the people on our list can you please get in touch with us, for us to update our system to make sure you do not miss out.
Please note all gift vouchers have a 12 Month expiry date. Unless you get in touch we will not extend the gift voucher please email [email protected] please do not leave a telephone message as reception is not manned due to lockdown. Despite today's negative posts, Monk Fryston Hall would like to wish everyone a Happy New, Please stay safe and help others stay safe.

Monk Fryston Hall over the last few days has suffered vandalism and the breaking in too of boarded-up buildings on site.

This is believed to have been done by bored youths. Several youth groups have been spotted hanging around the buildings both during the day and late evening.

We would ask all parents to ensure their teenagers and children are not in the grounds without parent supervision. Monk Fryston Hall is not a public playground. It is not safe for people to be entering sealed buildings on site, and indeed it is a criminal act to break into these buildings.

We note that one of the youths has a Royal blue bike.

Please be aware the police are being informed. Should we find teenagers and youths acting suspiciously on site they will be treated as criminals? We will reserve the right to restrain them until the police arrive - if caught and we will press criminal charges if the police deem it appropriate. We also publish photographs if we are able to catch your children in the act.

Monk Fryston Hall has sustained damage to property over the last 3 days.

We will not accept any responsibility should any injuries occur in our grounds by persons not using the hotel as paying guests.

It is a shame that a small few spoil things for everyone.

Monk Fryston Hall will begin a gradual phased opening of our services starting with this Sunday the 2nd of August we will be offering afternoon tea from 12 o'clock until 3.30pm.

Pre-bookings only. Tell 01977 682369 or 01977 682757.

For your safety, due to covid 19 only guests who are pre-booked on afternoon tea or for an overnight stay will be allowed to enter our grounds. Our restaurant and Haddon room has been spaced to allow safe social distancing. We ask that you use the hand sanitizers onsite and that you maintain a safe social distance from staff and other guests, we will be aiming to maintain a 2 meter rule.

Monk Fryston Hall will still remain closed today to members of the public accept for room only overnight stays.

We will be taking bookings shortly for the restaurant.

Customer Information currently the grounds of Monk Fryston Hall remain closed to the public.

We thank the many local people that have respected our decision to close our grounds during the Covid 19 pandemic and look forward to seeing you all again soon. We have not decided when we will reopen. We do not share the government's view that it is now safe to congregate. We are now looking at our reopening strategy.

Parental information

Children and teenagers are never allowed to play in the grounds without an adult due to safety and security issues.

We will consider making it a police matter if children and teenagers are found using the grounds without adult supervision.

Currently, we are noticing damage in the woodlands by children/teenagers. We have incurred a broken bridge, den building across footpaths rope swings in trees and huge amounts of litter being left both in woodlands and formal grounds. We, therefore, request to all parents to inform their children regardless of Covid 19, that they are not to use the woodlands and grounds of Monk Fryston Hall Hotel as a playground. They are not to enter the grounds including the woodlands without an adult regardless of Covid 19 restrictions.

The woodland and grounds and grounds are dangerous to children, the branches of trees could break and injure children playing on them, the waterways are not safe for children to play around as they are deep in mud and could endanger life. The litter left behind in the woodlands and now the formal grounds is a danger to wildlife

Horse riding and cycling are never allowed in the woodlands as they churn up the paths and spoil the enjoyment of the woods for others.

I am sure that most parents reading this will appreciate that their children's safety is paramount along with the wildlife of the woodlands. Thank you for your anticipated assistance in this matter.
